Programs/Events

Our PTA provides funding and coordinates support and volunteers for a number of programs and events at the school. These programs are designed to enhance our kids’ normal curriculum with additional outside learning opportunities, build parent-school relationships, and show our appreciation to the Wedgewood faculty.

 

Wedgewood PTA Does That?

  • Hosts the Back to School Breakfast for teachers
  • Creates bus tags/Go-Home tags for students Grades PreK-2nd
  • Runs the school store
  • Hosts Teacher Hospitality Luncheons
  • Organizes & hosts Teacher Appreciation Week
  • Communicates via Facebook
  • Financially supports the Discovery Garden
  • Provides special programs
  • Organizes room parents for every grade level and teacher
  • BRAG TAGS!
  • Helps with Literacy Library year round
  • Provides volunteers for the library
  • Organizes and runs the annual carnival, silent auction, and raffle
  • Contributed thousands of dollars to the SPARK Park
  • Organizes and hosts the annual GLOW Dance
  • Hosts the Ice Cream Social for students and parents
  • Organizes pre-packaged school supplies and their delivery to the classrooms
  • Helps host Meet the Teacher with information tables, spiritwear sales, and free popcorn
  • Supports the Watch Dog program
  • Supports and helps run Red Ribbon Week
  • Supports and helps run Anti-Bullying Week
  • Supports and helps run the Book Fair twice a year
  • Provides volunteers and decorates for the Thanksgiving Feast
  • Organizes and hosts the annual Holiday Shoppe
  • Hosts the annual Cookies/Cocoa with Santa
  • Hosts the Reflections Art Contest
  • Organizes and runs the grade level T-shirt sales through SpiritWorx
  • Hosts an annual Art Night
  • Financially supports the 5th grade award ceremony and pool party
  • Organizes T-shirt sales for the clubs – Student Council, Green Team, Spirit Squad, Choir, Run Club
  • Donates money to the block classes– P.E., Art, Music
  • Organizes an annual volunteer request to get support for all the programs throughout the school
  • Provides needed and requested items for the school. Years past PTA has bought the rock wall in the gym, playground equipment, a shade canopy for the PreK/AA playground, new trashcans, safety vests for the Wolves on Patrol, iPods for the teachers to check out, digital cameras for the Yearbook Club, shade canopies for all grade levels to use on Field Day, P.E. equipment, Media Center books, new software for the teachers, donated thousands of dollars for the SPARK Park, etc.
